Charles Robert Fluegge Sr., 75, of Gordonville died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 25, 1927, at Tilsit, son of Robert L. and Martina Peetz Fluegge. He and Betty Reisenbichler were married June 27, 1952, in Cape Girardeau.

Charles farmed and was a mechanic at Cape Ready Mix, Rose-Con Concrete, and Sam Tanksley Trucking. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson.

He served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 11, 1945, to Dec. 31, 1946.

Loving survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Clarissa Fluegge of Gravel Hill; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Jim Young and Karen and Jim Horrell, all of Jackson; six grandchildren, Christan and Casey Fluegge of Gravel Hill, Jaime Young, Mindy, Jeremy and Josh Horrell, all of Jackson; three brothers, Byron and Orville Fluegge of Jackson, Milford Fluegge of Millersville; two sisters, Evelyn Moore of Gordonville, and Marjorie Hoehne of Jackson.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School, the Lutheran Home, or Alzheimer's Association.
