THEBES, Ill. -- Charles "Zeke" Rendleman, 83, of Greendale, Wis., formerly of Thebes, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the Ruth Hospice Facility in West Allies, Wis.

He was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Thebes, son of Charles C. and Edith Bracken Rendleman. He and Elaine Tripp were married March 28, 1942, in Jackson.

Rendleman was a member of the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Greendale.

He was a veteran of World War II as a member of the 80th Air Force stationed in the United Kingdom. He retired from Consolidated Freightways in 1982 after 35 years working as an office manager. He formed the Flying Pathfinders Club in 1958 and was a member of the 80th Air Force Historical Society, serving on its board of directors.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Kathylaine Cardimona, Cynthia Roshak, Kimberlle Rendleman, Glenn Rendleman and Charles Rendleman; and two sisters, Mary Griggs and Dorothea Papp.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Greendale. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Jonesboro Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ill. The Rev. Dr. Richard Hertenstein will officiate, with full military honors performed by the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
