PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Charles H. Voelker, 58, of Perryville died Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 27, 1960, in Perryville, the son of Chalmer H. and Evelyn A. Doll Voelker. He and Nancy M. Davis were married July 30, 1983. She survives in Perryville.

Charles was a dairy farmer. He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church and Holy Name Society in the Brewer community, the Knights of Columbus Council 1263, Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Dairy Association Board and Missouri Brown Swiss Association. He was also the former president and director of the National Brown Swiss Association. He was named Distinguished Dairy Breeder of the Missouri Dairy Hall of Honors. He was winner of the 2016 National Brown Swiss Active Master Breeder Award and Dairy Producer for Prairie Farms Co-op.

Other survivors include two daughters and three sons, Katie (Darin) Hill of Cattaraugus, New York, Suzanne (Matt) Schamburg and Chad (Danielle) Voelker, all of Perryville, Dr. Dayne Voelker of Rochester, Minnesota, and Grant Voelker of Perryville; a sister, Janet Voelker of Evansville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Blake, Garrett and Averi Hill and Mollie Schamburg; and three grandchildren on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Voelker; and a sister, Susan Voelker.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, with a rosary at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

He will then be taken to Christ the Savior Catholic Church for Mass at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer, C.M., officiating.

Memorials are preferred to the National Brown Swiss Junior Program, Perryville FFA or Perryville 4-H Club.
