Cherry Sue Birk, 83, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at The Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 20, 1932, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, to Harry and Eula Mae Seabaugh. She and Joe S. Birk were married June 28, 1952, in Jackson. He preceeded her in death Oct. 2, 2014.

Cherry Sue was a 1950 graduate of Jackson High School. She worked at the Jackson Hosiery Mill for Dr. Joe Jaeger and Dr. Edwin Noffel and at the Alice in Wonderland Gift Shop in Jackson for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxilliary and the Kimbeland Ladies Association.

She is survived by three daughters, Sue (Stan) Pierce of White House, Tennessee, Sally (Jim) Walker of Jackson and Sherry (Charlie) Goshen of Jackson; two sons, Sam (Jana) Birk of Cape Girardeau and Shannon Birk (Connie Bollinger) of Jackson; nine grandchildren, Courtney (Bobby) Wilson, Lindsey (Adrian) Dawes, Chase Walker, Bridgette, Samuel Payne and Audrey Birk, Max and Macy Goshen and Leanne (Wayne) Booth; six great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Liley Dawes and Carter Randen, Summer, Brandon and Oliver Booth; sisters Bonnie Smith of Jackson and Juanita (Cat Voors) Seabaugh of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Bill Birk; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister-in-law.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating.

Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Hospice, or the Jackson R-2 Foundation.
