Christen Joyel Aufdenberg, 19, 2500 Ranchito, died Monday, March 24, 1997, in an automobile accident on Grapevine Trail near Tamms, Ill., in Alexander County.

She was born April 15, 1977, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Kenneth W. and Rita Bowers Aufdenberg.

Aufdenberg was a 1995 graduate of Central High School, and was a second year nursing student at Shawnee Junior College in Ullin, Ill. She was a nurses aide and med technician at St. Francis Medical Center. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her parents of Cape Girardeau; paternal grandparents, Walter and Ruth Aufdenberg of Jackson; and maternal grandparents, Patsy and Grayson Dowdy of Paragould, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew Church, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
