DONGOLA, Ill. -- Clara Penrod, 78, of Dongola, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1992, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born June 6, 1913, at Naylor, daughter of Lewis and Susan Sheppard Perrin. She married Ashley Clay Penrod Jan. 14, 1931. He died Feb. 19, 1978.

Penrod was a member of First Baptist Church here.

Survivors include a nephew, Robert Perrin of Murray, Ky.; two nieces, Melba Gann of Doniphan, Mo., and Kay Carter of Maynard, Ark.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Lucien Bozarth will officiate, with burial in Meisenheimer/Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday, and until time of service Saturday.
