Clarence L. "Pepsi Mike" Burfiend Sr., 72, of 525 South Middle, died Saturday, June 6, 1992 at his home.

He was born Dec. 10, 1919 at Festus, the son of Ernest and Martina Worth Burfiend.

He married Mary Lashley Jaco on July 29, 1973. She survives of the home.

Other survivors are one son, Clarence L. Burfiend Jr. of Perryville; one step-son, Evert Jaco of Hartford, Kan.; three step-daughters, Barbara Januszewski of Jackson, Valerie Vermillion of Jackson and Dora Schmeiderer of Perryville; two sisters, Angela Mason of Perryville and Helen Burfiend of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the VFW Post 3838 and a charter member of the American Legion Post at Perryville. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was employed by the Pepsi Cola Company for 40 years, retiring in January, 1974.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. David V. Dissen officiating.

Burial will follow in Post Oak Cemetery in Patton.
