BLODGETT -- Clarence L. "Shorty" Hughes, 56, of Blodgett died Tuesday, June 23, 1992, at his home.
He was born May 6, 1936, in Porum, Okla., the son of the late Dennis Clarence and Mary Viola Breedlove Hughes. On Aug. 17, 1957, he married Peggy Thurman in Sikeston. She survives of the home.
He was a plumber, electrician and carpenter and was self-employed as "Shorty the Handyman."
Other survivors include four daughters, Debra Hughes of Blodgett, Ginger and Peggy Annette Hughes, both of Sikeston, and Shanna Hughes of the home; a nephew reared in the home, Bobby Smith of Thebes, Ill.; three sisters, Wanda Slayton of Zalma, Amy Burton of Hamlet, Ind. and Sylvia Dolan of Winsfield; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Lee Fansler will officiate, and burial will be in the Blodgett Cemetery.
