CLINTON DUCKWORTH

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Funeral for Clinton Duckworth of Dongola will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. The Rev. A.W. Landis and Everett Frizzell will officiate. Burial will be in Meisenheimer Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today.

Duckworth, 65, died Monday, March 15, 1999, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.

He was born Jan. 10, 1934, at Perks, son of Howard and Melvina Beggs Duckworth. He and Helen Hefner were married Oct. 11, 1956.

Duckworth was employed at Vulcan Materials Co. 35 years, retiring in 1998. He served on the Dongola School Board from 1971-76, Dongola Village Board from 1977-81, and was currently serving on the Meisenheimer Cemetery Board.

He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Perks, and member of Union Local 1330. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Charles and Jerry Duckworth of Dongola, Mark Duckworth of Anna, John Duckworth of Chester; a brother, Justus Duckworth of Dongola; three sisters, Ellen Harvick of Greenacres, Wash., Flossie Wickboldt of Berkeley, Mary File of Tolono; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
