PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Clinton Kenneth “Clint” Steffens, 82, of Perryville passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at Estates of Perryville. He was born Jan. 15, 1935, in Wittenberg, Missouri, son of Ferdinand and Emma Koenig Steffens. Clinton attended school in Altenburg, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from April 6, 1954, until being honorably discharged April 5, 1957...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Clinton Kenneth “Clint” Steffens, 82, of Perryville passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at Estates of Perryville.

He was born Jan. 15, 1935, in Wittenberg, Missouri, son of Ferdinand and Emma Koenig Steffens.

Clinton attended school in Altenburg, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from April 6, 1954, until being honorably discharged April 5, 1957.

He worked as a truck driver in Chicago for many years and was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union in Chicago.

Clint was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include two sons, Wesley (Christina) Steffens of Jackson and David (Gina) Steffens of Georgia; five siblings, Vernon (Betty) Steffens, Kenneth (Lorna) Steffens and Larry (Ruby) Steffens of Frohna, Missouri, Melbert (Sandra) Steffens of Fenton, Missouri, and Geraldine Kaufman of Uniontown, Missouri; and four grandchildren, David Jr., Savannah, Nicholas and Christopher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cheryl Steffens; a sister, Vera Noennig; and an infant brother, Earl Ferdinand Steffens.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with military honors.

The family suggests contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran School in Jackson.
