CAIRO, Ill. -- Clora Gregory, 98, of Cairo died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Daystar Care Center. She was born Dec. 6, 1899, in Sandy Ridge, Ky., daughter of James and Leona Canady Lawrence. CAIRO, Ill. -- Clora Gregory, 98, of Cairo died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1998, at Daystar Care Center.

She was born Dec. 6, 1899, in Sandy Ridge, Ky., daughter of James and Leona Canady Lawrence. She married Joseph Henry Gregory, who died in 1951.

Gregory was a member of First Christian Church, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Lucille Thompson of Cairo, Dorothy Farmer of Palm Bay, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5:30-7:30 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Pigg officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds.
