COBDEN, Ill. -- Clyde L. "Pug" Goodman, 82, of Cobden died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 2, 1927, in Cobden, son of Aurthur F. and Gladys E. Grace Goodman. He married Carol L. Warren on July 9, 1976, in Cape Girardeau.
Clyde proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and, following his discharge, re-enlisted in the U.S. Army and served three more years. Clyde retired from the former Anna State Hospital after 31 years of service. Clyde was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Carol, of Cobden; a daughter, Sherry (Bill) Stull of Wilson, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Linda Goodman of Cape Girardeau and Linda (Kirk) Talbot of Elgin, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
Funeral services for Clyde L. "Pug" Goodman will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Anna Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Roath officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery in Cobden with military honors by Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 in Anna and the Illinois National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team in Marion, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to Anna Heights Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
