ORAN -- Cressie Wright, 84, of Oran died Thursday, Oct. 17, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 5, 1912, in East Prairie, daughter of Joshua Carl and Florence Phillips Teague. She and John Wright were married Sept. 27, 1940.

Wright had worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone in Chaffee and at International Hat Factory in Oran. She was a member of First Baptist Church at Oran, taught Sunday School, and was superintendent of the junior department many years.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Glenna Shy and Sharron Lathum of Sikeston; a sister, Dema Pledger of Willamina, Ore.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Ed Carter and Gary Teague and Gregry Lathum officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Garden at Morley.
