COBDEN, Ill. -- Curtis Mayberry Jr., 49, of Cobden died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, in the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

He was born Nov. 13, 1966, in Anna, Illinois, the son of Curtis Ray and Alice Fay (Schlichting) Mayberry Sr.

He married Terri Mowery on June 24, 1995, in Las Vegas.

Curtis worked as a butcher for 29 years before his current job at Glenbrooke Cila Home in Vienna, Illinois. He loved hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Terri Mayberry of Cobden; a daughter, Danisha Ward of Cobden; two grandchildren, Trenton and Collin Ward; mother, Alice Fay Mayberry of Anna; cousins; other relatives; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.

Funeral service for Curtis Ray Mayberry Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro (Illinois) Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mayberry family to assist with expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
