Darlene K. "Kay" Tuschhoff, 83, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Peoria, Illinois, to Raymond Clifford and Josephine Margaret Beasley Guittar.
She earned her cosmetology license from Liberty Beauty School in Peoria.
Kay and Harold Tuschhoff were married June 1, 1958, in Peoria. In 1961, they purchased Elmo's Jewelry from Elmo Martin. The name was changed to Harold's Jewelry, and together, Harold and Kay operated the jewelry store in uptown Jackson. They are longtime, faithful members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Loving survivors include her husband of 64 years, Harold Tuschhoff of Jackson; two children, Dan (Kathy) Tuschhoff of Cape Girardeau and Cheryl (Mark) Renne of Foristell, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Bev (the late Tim) Tuschhoff of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Tessa) Tuschhoff, Nikole Tuschhoff, Heather (Derek) Palisch, Jessica (Aric) Holzbauer, Kyle (Ellen) Renne and Eric and Logan Renne; four great-grandchildren, Emily and Aubrie Palisch and Isla and Cora Renne; sister, Susan Susko of Springfield, Illinois; brother-in-law, Harlan (the late Marie) Tuschhoff of Jackson; niece, Donna Tuschoff of St. Louis; and two great-nieces, Lizzie and Emily Tuschoff.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tim Tuschhoff; sister, Deborah Guittar; Harold's parents, Oscar and Mary Tuschhoff; and Harold's siblings, Hilbert (Aileen) Tuschoff and Helenmarie (Elmer) Koenig.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
The Rev. Jason Shaw will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the church. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the donor's choice of church or charity.
