Joseph Darrell Higgins, 70, of Clarkton died Friday, March 18, 2005, in Tulsa, Okla.
He was born July 13, 1934, in Paragould, Ark., son of Joseph Leonard and Verna Inez Greenway Higgins. He and Judy Darlene Mikel were married June 13, 1992, in Clarkton.
Higgins was a self-employed over-the-road truck driver.
He served with the U.S. Army in Germany from 1958 to 1960.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nanette Smith of Kirkwood, Mo.; three brothers, Jerry Higgins of Truman, Ark., Max Higgins of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Hoyt Higgins of Louisville, Ky., three sisters, Hattie Emery of Paragould, Ark., Vicky Prince of Cape Girardeau, Cathy Barnett of Scott City; a stepdaughter, Tracy Walker of Clarkton; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and his stepfather.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, with military rites to be conducted.
