McCLURE, Ill. -- David W. Pearce, 54, of McClure died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 26, 1956, in McClure to Clyde and Bobbie Wilson Pearce Jr.

Mr. Pearce was the owner and operator of the Purple Crackle in East Cape Girardeau, Ill.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners Club, Team National and Trustee of the Village of East Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his mother, Bobbie Pearce, East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; an uncle and aunt, Gus and Rose Lingle, East Cape Girardeau; 10 cousins, Mark Johnson of Thebes, Ill., Candy Waterman, Angela Ratliff, Lance Ratliff, all of Cape Girardeau, Maureen Westrich and children of Cape Girardeau, Jacquelyn and Richard Ainsworth of Jackson, Brian and Rebecca Lingle of Washington, Mo., Jeremy Lingle, Matthew Lingle, Rebeckah Lingle, all of Cape Girardeau; special friend, Christina Perry of East Cape Girardeau and her children, Decklyn and Lian Bain of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Pearce Jr.; grandmother, Nona Wilson; and grandparents Ted and Pauline Wilson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
