CHAFFEE -- David Tilton Frey Jr., 91, of Chaffee died Saturday, Jan. 8, 1984, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 7, 1902 in York, Pa., son of Sarah Black and David Tilton Frey Sr.

He was a retired stock worker, having worked for 45 years with the Wholesale Grocery Co. in York.

He was a professional boxer from 1923-1925. He was a member of the Chauffeurs, Teamsters and Helpers Local No. 430 in York until his retirement at age 65.

He married Norene Copenheaver on July 16, 1949 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1985.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Griffin of Chaffee; one brother, Ralph Frey of York; two sisters, Mary Lutzinger and Elizabeth Peterman, both of York; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.

Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with the Rev. Dale Hendrix officiating.

A burial service will be held later at Heffner Funeral Home in York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York.
