Dayton King, son of the late Floy and Zona Hodge King, was born June 9, 1943, in Delta and passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at his home in Delta at the age of 76 years.
He was united in marriage to Janet Sue Menz on Nov. 7, 1964, in Delta. She preceded him in death June 5, 2018.
King was the owner and operator of Bob's Sinclair for many years in Scott City. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Delta and a lifelong resident in Delta.
Survivors include a son, Rocky (Tomma) King of Delta; daughter, Holly (Lanney) Hampton of Delta; brother, Charles King of Delta; two sisters, Kathern Anthony of Oran, Missouri, and Donnie Yarbro of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren, Austin (Molly) Hampton, Ty King, Aaron Hampton and Allie Hampton.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Cody Dayton King; five brothers, Buford, Danny, Duree, J.D. and Louie King; and two sisters, Imogene Hitchcock and Nadine Crowden.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.
Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Conn officiating. Interment will follow in Kenyon Cemetery in Delta.
