Deanna Walker, 47, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Oct. 1, 1957, in Anna, Ill., daughter of Glenn E. and Doris Bibb Middleton. She and William H. Walker were married in August 1989 in Cobden, Ill.

Walker received a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in counseling at Southeast Missouri State University. She was a counselor at Jackson Middle School in Jackson.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Missouri State Teachers Association and Marine Corps League Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; her mother of Cobden; a brother, John Middleton of Cobden; five sisters, Glenda Wingerter of Shorewood, Ill., JoAnn Yates of Anna, Midge Stewart, Nina Lofton and Sherri Lukes, all of Cobden.

Friends may call at Grace Methodist Church from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, and Saturday after 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Cobden. A Marine Corps League Auxiliary service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Grace Church.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist in Cobden, with the Revs. Tom Zych, Scott Moon and Allen Speer officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.

Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden is in charge of arrangements.
