SIKESTON -- Funeral for Derris M. Gray of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. James Trotter will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Gray, 78, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born March 21, 1920, in Sikeston, son of Frank H. and Docia Jane Hahn Gray. He and Ruby S. Chesmore were married April 12, 1942, at Poe.

Gray was a member of the VFW Post and North Acres General Baptist Church in Sikeston.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vanita Wilburn and Shelley Gray of Sikeston; and two granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
