DEWARD C. OVERBEY

BELL CITY -- Deward Carl "Buck" Overbey, 78, of Hartford, Ill., died Tuesday, April 5, 1994, in Wood River, Ill.

He was born June 5, 1915, at Bell City, son of Seth Poole and Oletha Palfreeman Overbey. He and Lucy Johns were married June 16, 1934, at Bloomfield.

Overbey worked 32 years at Olin Corp. in East Alton, Ill., retiring in 1972.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Overbey of Lincoln, Ill., Walter Overbey of Waterloo, Ill.; two daughters, Betty Bowermaster of Hartford, Georgia Unthank of Godfrey, Ill.; four brothers, Jerry Overbey of Waterloo, Glen Overbey of Brighton, Ill., Ben Overbey of Roxana, Ill., Raydean "Bill" Overbey of Carrollton, Ill.; four sisters, Floy Rhodes of Advance, Dorothy Ruble of Brookfield, Imogene Koppman and Barbara Doublin of Puxico; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Green officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
