DeWayne Strauser, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born March 16,1930, at Swinton, Mo., son of Doyle Franklin and Ina Jewell Davis Strauser.
Mr. Strauser worked for Union Electric 39 years. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3838 and Eagles Aerie 3775.
He served in the U.S. Army from April 10, 1951, to April 23, 1953.
Survivors include two sons, Doyle Strauser and wife Nancy of Cape Girardeau, Kevin Strauser and wife Julia of Scott City; two daughters, Kathy Blakely and husband Tom of Aberdeen, Wash., Kara Strutz and husband Carl of Boerne, Texas; a brother, Dale Strauser of Waynesville, Mo.; two sisters, Doylene Herzinger of Cape Girardeau, Jean Collier of Scott City; a loving companion, Judy Young of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Todd Greer officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with military rites by Missouri Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
