Funeral service for Dimple Marie Hewitt of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Kim McDowell will officiate, with burial in Oakland Cemetery at Carbondale, Ill.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m.

Hewitt, 91, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1993, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born June 28, 1901, in Anna, Ill., daughter of John C. and Rosella Barringer Gordon. She married Joe Evans Hewitt June 3, 1922, in Belleville, Ill. He died in 1964.

Hewitt was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, and was a former member of Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Bill Hewitt of Taylor, S.C.; a brother, Ralph Gordon of Inman, S.C.; a sister, Georgia Steinke of Cape Girardeau, and a grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
