Donald "Diz" Anderson, 77, of Hannibal died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Fla. He was born March 10, 1921, in West Frankfort, Ill. Donald "Diz" Anderson, 77, of Hannibal died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Fla.

He was born March 10, 1921, in West Frankfort, Ill.

Anderson was a retired insurance agent.

He was a 1948 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. A 1946 football All-American, Anderson was selected to the Associated Press Little All-America second team as an offensive center after helping Southeast to an 8-0-1 season. He lettered four years at Southeast.

Active as a booster of the university's athletic teams for a number of years, Anderson was a former chairman of Abe's Boys, a group of former Southeast athletes coached by Abe Stuber.

Survivors include his wife, Neva; three daughters, Karen Lynch of Dallas, Texas, Andrea Louis and Cindy Wenneker of Hannibal; and a son, Scott Anderson of Hannibal.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 2 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hannibal.
