Donald "Diz" Anderson, 77, of Hannibal died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Fla.
He was born March 10, 1921, in West Frankfort, Ill.
Anderson was a retired insurance agent.
He was a 1948 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. A 1946 football All-American, Anderson was selected to the Associated Press Little All-America second team as an offensive center after helping Southeast to an 8-0-1 season. He lettered four years at Southeast.
Active as a booster of the university's athletic teams for a number of years, Anderson was a former chairman of Abe's Boys, a group of former Southeast athletes coached by Abe Stuber.
Survivors include his wife, Neva; three daughters, Karen Lynch of Dallas, Texas, Andrea Louis and Cindy Wenneker of Hannibal; and a son, Scott Anderson of Hannibal.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 2 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hannibal.
