SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Dolph Starkey, 93, of Sedgewickville, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at the ClaRu Deville nursing home in Fredericktown, Mo.
He was born May 23, 1909, at Marquand, Mo., son of James and Nettie Rowlins Starkey. He and Myrtle Cureton were married May 7, 1927, at Marble Hill, Mo. She died Jan. 20, 1996.
He was retired from the Missouri State Highway Department at Marquand. He had preached for many years at area churches.
Survivors include three sons, Sherman and Jack Starkey, both of Sedgewickville, Billy Starkey of Marquand; five daughters, Bonnie Stanfield of Dexter, Mo., Mona Sliger of Arnold, Mo., Phyllis Paine of Mentone, Calif., Audrey Wadlow and Marie Royle, both of Brooksville, Fla.; 38 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, six brothers and six sisters.
Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo., from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Pine Union Cemetery near Marquand.
