DENVER — Kennyn Don Statler, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, in Denver.

Don was born Jan. 13, 1935, to Lloyd L. and Marie C. Hahs Statler. He married Deloris “Dee” Jean Hager on July 13, 1963. They had two children, enjoyed 37 years as husband and wife, and resided in Missouri, Ohio, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Michigan before Dee’s death in 2010.

Survivors include two children, Kennyn Don Statler II and Kimberly Statler (Tell) Bennett; two grandchildren, Evelyn and Matthew; two brothers, Jerry and Gene Statler; 13 nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. Interment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

To honor Don, his family hopes to expand KidSpace, the children’s area at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum in Denver. Don treasured time with his grandchildren, and Wings was a very special place for them. The museum has established a dedicated memorial fund www.wingsmuseum.org/give/makeadonation.
