Donald R. Farris, 61, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at his home. He was born Feb. 12, 1940, at Qulin, Mo., son of Joseph "Joe" and Buna Boley Farris. He and Glenda Johnson were married Oct. 2, 1958. Farris worked at the former Florsheim Shoe Co. 25 years, and for BFI three years. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School in the children's department many years...

Donald R. Farris, 61, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at his home.

He was born Feb. 12, 1940, at Qulin, Mo., son of Joseph "Joe" and Buna Boley Farris. He and Glenda Johnson were married Oct. 2, 1958.

Farris worked at the former Florsheim Shoe Co. 25 years, and for BFI three years. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church, and taught Sunday School in the children's department many years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dale Farris of Nixa, Mo., David Farris of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Connie Gray of Houston, Texas, Cindy Mayfield of Cape Girardeau; his mother of New Madrid, Mo.; a brother, Bill Farris of Randles, Mo.; two sisters, Dorothy Dever of Tamaroa, Ill., Saundra Farrow of Randles; seven grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today, and after 12:30 p.m. Friday at Southside Baptist Church.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Vernon Long and Phil Thompson officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
