Donna Marie Cox Lashley, 72, of Jackson was born to the late Luther and Irene King Cox Dec. 7, 1948, in Ardeola, Missouri, and passed peacefully Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, at her home.

Donna attended and graduated school in Bell City, Missouri. She earned her secretarial certificate in St. Louis, where she met and married William Lashley and had three sons.

She was retired and enjoyed reading, playing cards, bingo, visiting the casino and attending family gatherings and most of all bragging about her sons and grandkids. She loved her family, and they loved her. She was looking forward to another great-grandchild arriving in the next few months.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; eldest son, Darrel Ray; siblings, Eugene Cox, Tom Cox, Larry Cox, Ronny Cox, Jay Cox, Nancy Kinder, Barbara Head, Mary Mier and Beckie Cox.

She is survived by her two sons, Steve (Sonya) Lashley of Ashland, Missouri, and Jeff (Heidi) Lashley of Jackson; grandkids, Austin Lashley of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; Alex (Callie) Lashley of Cape Girardeau; Trevor Lashley of Jackson; Dylan Lashley of Jackson; Hayden (Shyanne) Bridges of Ashland; and Carlie Bridges of Columbia, Missouri; great-grandkids, Ayden and Ayble of Ashland; siblings, Linda Cox of St. Louis; Dale (Anna) Cox of Marietta, Georgia; Mildred (Harry) Vandeven of Leopold, Missouri; David (Janet) Cox of Bell City; and Rita Cox of Bell City; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. There will be a time of sharing of memories by family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Crain Funeral Home to help cover final expenses.
