SCOTT CITY -- Dora Darlene Smith, 87, of Scott City, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1996, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.
She was born Oct. 12, 1908, in Pleasant Hill, Ill., daughter of James and Minnie Hobbs Dixon. She and James Charles Smith were married June 12, 1925, in Pittsfield, Ill. He died Oct. 21, 1973.
Smith was a former member of the Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include five sons, Melvin "Mac" Smith of Scott City, Alfred Smith of Oran, Danny Smith of Kelso, John Smith of St. Louis, David Smith of Sikeston; six daughters, Audrey Matthews of Lincoln, Ill., Imogene Hanger of Stephentown, N.Y., Barbara Houck of Benton, Kathleen Woolridge of Jonesboro, Ill., Ann Leonard of Spanaway, Wash., Sharon Raines of Scott City; 75 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 3 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Kenny Strong officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
