MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Doris Gaines Reitzel, 89, of Marble Hill passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill. She was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Grassy, Mo., daughter of Willard and Bessie Abernathy Burk. She first married Hiram Gaines on Feb. 18, 1938, and he passed away Dec. 1, 1980. She then married Paul Tanner, and he passed away; then she married Orville Reitzel, and he passed away...

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Doris Gaines Reitzel, 89, of Marble Hill passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill.

She was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Grassy, Mo., daughter of Willard and Bessie Abernathy Burk. She first married Hiram Gaines on Feb. 18, 1938, and he passed away Dec. 1, 1980. She then married Paul Tanner, and he passed away; then she married Orville Reitzel, and he passed away.

Doris was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerome Gaines of Marble Hill and Stanley Gaines of Grassy; one daughter, Mary Endraske of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; one brother, Joe Burk of San Antonio; two sisters, Wilma Schreiner of Marble Hill and Virginia Smith of Wood River, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Albert and Robert Gaines; one brother, Fred Burk; and one sister, Corinne Bueseher.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
