ORAN, Mo. -- Doris Jean Walter, 82, of Oran passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at her family home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 14, 1935, in New Hamburg, Missouri, to the late Daley and Catherine "Katie" Heuring Klipfel. She married Philip Aloysius Walter on Sept. 10, 1951, and he preceded her in death April 10, 1977...

ORAN, Mo. -- Doris Jean Walter, 82, of Oran passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at her family home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 14, 1935, in New Hamburg, Missouri, to the late Daley and Catherine "Katie" Heuring Klipfel. She married Philip Aloysius Walter on Sept. 10, 1951, and he preceded her in death April 10, 1977.

Doris was a teacher for Kinder House in Chaffee. She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. Doris was a member of St. Ann's Sodality and KC'etts in Oran.

She is survived by four sons, Randy (June) Walter of Oran, Kim (Cheryl) Walter of Oran, Danny (Gail) Walter of Chaffee and Scott (Sandy) Walter of Oran; six daughters, Carla (Bennie) Ray of Oran, Donna Dinges of Oran, Gail (Randy) Dumey of Chaffee, Karen (John) Pobst of Scott City, Cindy (Neal) Seyer of Oran and Sandy (Mark) Mahurin of Bloomington, Indiana; 45 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Ron Walter; a daughter, Sharlett Eftink; a sister, Laverne Keusenkothen; and two brothers, Leroy and Raymond Klipfel.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
