PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dorothy Jean Fluegel, 80, of Perryville died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.

She was born May 29, 1932, at Perryville, to Sylvester and Laura Polly Guyot Unterreiner. She married Raymond Fluegel May 1, 1952, in Perry County.

Dorothy was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville. She had been a secretary at the Association of Miraculous Medal. Dorothy was an avid quilter, making beautiful quilts for many people. She enjoyed dancing, flea markets and auctions. Dorothy was also a wonderful cook, who loved preparing meals for family and friends, as well as hosting fish fries and chicken fries.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Fluegel of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Kenneth (Kathy) Fluegel, Kerry Fluegel, Keith (Karen Thomure) Fluegel, all of Perryville; two daughters, Kathy (Blane) Kohm and Kaye Fluegel of Perryville; two brothers, David (Evelyn) Unterreiner and Thomas (Julie) Unterreiner of Perryville; eight grandchildren, Kendra (Andy) Mattingly, Kara (Kevin) Martyn, Tera Fluegel, Eric (Rhonda Gross) Reinwald, Chad Reinwald, Sarah Knobloch, Sabrina (Chris) James, and Hailee Fluegel; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joseph Unterreiner; a sister, Ruth Wood; and a grandson, Ryan Fluegel.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and 6:30 to 10:20 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 tonight, and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice, Missouri Veterans Home, or Association of Miraculous Medal.
