Dorothy Maevers

Dorothy "Polly" Maevers, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born July 31, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Milford J. and Dorothy I. Herzinger Martin. She and Frank A. Maevers Jr. were married March 9, 1974, in Cape Girardeau.

Maevers was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was a former Girl Scout Leader of Troop 83. She was a member of Family Support Group of National Guard 1140th.

Maevers was a 1964 graduate of Central High School. She was a former beautician and also worked at Baker's Big Burger.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Ame Maevers of Cape Girardeau; her mother of Marble Hill, Mo.; and a brother, Robert Martin of Malden, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dan Johnson and Ernest Jordan officiating.
