PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dorothy L. Meyer, 82, of Perryville died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Holiday Residential in Perryville.
She was born Jan. 18, 1933, in Crosstown, Missouri, daughter of Martin and Mary Corinne Petot Bohnert. She and Frederick J. Meyer were married Oct. 18, 1957. He preceded her in death May 22, 1998.
She had been activity aide at Perry Oaks Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its ladies organization in Apple Creek, Missouri, and Western Catholic Union. She played LuLu at the Apple Creek Hee Haw Show.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters, Richard (Sharon) Meyer of Nashville, Tennessee, Tammy (Phil) Schaaf of Perryville, John (Diane) Meyer of Frohna, Missouri, Kathy (Steve) Mangels of Oak Ridge, David Meyer of Frohna and Kevin (Shannon) Meyer of Perryville; one brother, Martin "Shorty" Bohnert of Perryville; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant son, Douglas; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, with the Rev. Jim French officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Apple Creek.
Memorials are preferred to St. Michael Cemetery Fund in Apple Creek.
