SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Doug Avery, 54, of Scott City died Friday, April 26, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola, Ark. He was born Jan. 8, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, son of Harry E. and Ellodee Winemiller Avery. He and Bobby Faye Wolfe Stubenrauch were married Nov. 19, 1974. She died July 7, 2000...

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Doug Avery, 54, of Scott City died Friday, April 26, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola, Ark.

He was born Jan. 8, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, son of Harry E. and Ellodee Winemiller Avery.

He and Bobby Faye Wolfe Stubenrauch were married Nov. 19, 1974. She died July 7, 2000.

A truck driver, Avery was employed by Murphy Brothers in Moline, Ill. He belonged to Teamsters Local 574 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela Faye Avery of Boise, Idaho; three stepdaughters, Leslie Simmons, Shelly Huckstep and Sonja Westrich, all of Scott City; and five stepgrandchildren.

Also surviving are six brothers, Glenn Avery of Washington, Mo., Calvin Avery of Summerville, S.C., Mike Avery of Scott City, and Jeff, Randy and Jimmy Avery, all of Chaffee, Mo., and a sister, Sherri Sturm of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
