Edna W. Brandt, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1916, at Bloomfield, daughter of Sidney and Maude DeWitt Wilson. She and Richard C. Brandt were married in January 1935 in Cape Girardeau. He died in September 1979.
Brandt was raised at Bloomfield and attended Southeast Missouri State University. She moved to Dallas, Texas, in the early 1940s.
After returning to Cape Girardeau she started KGMO Radio Station with Bill Brandt and Bill Bryan. They also had two other stations.
The partnership split and she and her husband operated KCOB station in Newton, Iowa, from 1958-79. She returned to Cape Girardeau in 1983.
She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, P.E.O., Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxiliary, and Copper Dome Society.
Survivors include a son, Joe Brandt of Lake Ozark; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
There is no visitation.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park gazebo, with Dr. Clayton Smith officiating.
