Eleanor M. Martin, 87, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at her home.

She was born July 4, 1923, in Cairo, daughter of Benjamin F. and Zelma East Friziellie. She married Louis F. Martin, who preceded her in death in 1996.

Martin was a licensed practical nurse.

Survivors include two daughters, Deanna Sullivan and Shawn Sullivan of Cape Girardeau; five sons, Louis F. Martin III of Harlingen, Texas, Mike Martin of Villa Ridge, Ill., Patrick A. Martin of Knotts, N.C., Kenton Martin of Tamms, Ill., Kris Martin of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Nancy Laidland of Cairo, Gladys Lee Beals of Oxford, Mass.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

There is no visitation.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. At the request of the family, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the charity of donor's choice in memory of Mrs. Martin.
