GRAND TOWER, Ill. -- Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Rumfelt, 61, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, April, 17, 1999, at her home.

Rumfelt was born Jan. 5, 1938, at Fulton, daughter of Charles Remrey and Nellie Worden Remrey. She and Lyman Rumfelt were married Dec. 31, 1955, at Fulton.

She was a member of the 16th Avenue Church of Christ in Sterling. After retiring to Southern Illinois, she attended the Church of Christ in Anna.

Rumfelt is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mary Ford of Grand Tower, Elizabeth Jones of Elizabethtown, Ky., Julie Richards of Morrison; four sons, Charles Rumfelt, Cyrus Rumfelt and Lyman Rumfelt, all of Morrison, Robert Rumfelt of Orange Park, Fla.; four brothers, Ralph Remrey and Raymond Remrey, both of Thomson, Harry "Sonny" Remrey of Fulton, Dan Remrey of Freeport; and 26 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, in the chapel of Hileman & Parr Funeral Services, with John Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Hill Cemetery.
