PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ellein R. Haertling, 84, of Perryville died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Oak Ridge, daughter of Paul E. and Clara R. Bingenheimer Richter Sr. She and Norbert R. Haertling were married Aug. 22, 1948. He preceded her in death Nov. 6, 1995.
Mrs. Haertling was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, Mo. She taught Sunday school for 15 years, was a member of Alter Guild for 29 years, Ladies Aid, American Legion Auxiliary, Brazeau Extension Club and Immanuel Lutheran ladies Bible study. She was baptized Feb. 3, 1929, and confirmed April 6, 1941.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (Ronald) Heuring of Perryville; two grandchildren, Joel Heuring and fiancee Emily Burchell of Charleston, S.C., and Julia (Tyler) Abernathy of Perryville; and a great-grandson, Bryant S. Abernathy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Olga Vogel; and a brother, Paul E. Richter Jr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church or Immanuel Lutheran School Debt Fund.
