Ellen Smith

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Ellen E. Smith, 75, of Dongola died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at home.

She was born April 13, 1928, in Alto Pass, Ill., daughter of Melvin and Alma Fox Tellor. She and Claude E. "Hoggie" Smith were married Jan. 1, 1943, at Jackson, Mo. He died Jan. 24, 1985.

Survivors include two daughters; Patty Dillow and Ethel King, both of Dongola; a son, Claudel Smith of Anna, Ill.; three brothers, Harry Tellor of Anna, Don Tellor of Vienna, Ill., and Walter Tellor of Dongola; two sisters, Esther Barker of Anna and Agnes Friese of Alto Pass; 19 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three children, two grandchildren, a sister and a brother.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hileman Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tressie Long officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
