CAIRO, Ill. -- Elsie Jones, 80, of Cairo died Oct, 23, 1993, at Meridian Manor Nursing Home in Mounds. She was born in Berkley, Ky., on April 6, 1913, the daughter of the late Willie and Clara Ann Ashworth Collier. CAIRO, Ill. -- Elsie Jones, 80, of Cairo died Oct, 23, 1993, at Meridian Manor Nursing Home in Mounds.

She was born in Berkley, Ky., on April 6, 1913, the daughter of the late Willie and Clara Ann Ashworth Collier.

She was a waitress at Glens Restaurant in Cairo for many years before her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Modean Polivick of Cairo; a sister, Florine Lynn of Houston, Texas; and one grandson.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Gholson officiating. Interment will follow in Berkley Cemetery at Berkley.
