ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Elwood Evans of Anna was held Monday at Crain Funeral Chapel here. Burial was in Casper Cemetery.

Evans, 79, died Thursday, June 16, 1994, at Union County Hospital.

He was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Poseyville, Ind., son of Sylvester and Stella May Grigsby Evans.

Evans was a retired baker.

Survivors include three sons, David Evans of Columbia Falls, Mont., Robert Evans of Anna, Steven Evans of Pueblo, Colo.; two daughters, Michelynn Hickson of Fayetteville, Tenn., Suzanne Bell of Pinckney, Mich.; a sister, Mamie Chapman of Anna; two brothers, Earl Evans of Chicago, Beryl Evans of Carbondale; nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.
