ELWOOD WHITE

BROWNWOOD -- Memorial service for Elwood White, 76 years old, of Brownwood, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Brownwood General Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Elfrink officiating.

White died Thursday, April 18, 1991, at his home.

He was born Nov. 28, 1914, the son of Henry and Clara Williams White.

White was retired from the National Lead Co. in St. Louis, where he worked as a mill operator.

On June 30, 1935, he married Myrtle Strong. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are two sons, James H. White, Brownwood, and Ernie White of St. Louis; one daughter, Carolyn Ranschburg of Brownwood; one half-brother Henry White of the state of California; a half-sister Christine Price of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, one brother and one grandson.

Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield was in charge of the arrangements.
