ADVANCE -- Emerson "Jerry" Lee Highfill, 61, of Advance died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
Highfill was born Dec. 31, 1937, at Ojibway, son of Nelson Highfill and Ethel Irene Tilley Highfill. He and JoAnn Grantham were married June 19, 1954, at Malden.
He had been a truck driver for H & G Marine in Perryville for a number of years.
Highfill is survived by his wife; four daughters, Ramona Harris of Perryville, Linda Smith of O'Fallen, Cyndi Jones and Beth Farrow, both of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Robert Highfill of St. Charles, Rod Highfill of Bowling Green; a sister, Vivian Riley of Eolia; seven grandchildren, Jeremy and Arenda Plumb, Amanda and Corey Highfill, Matthew and Joseph Highfill, Joshua Farrow; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandria Rollet and LeeAnn Ellis.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Lee Highfill, a brother and sister.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gary Tilley officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairmont Cemetery.
