Emil "Fritz" Koenig, 94, of Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Monticello House in Jackson.
He was born Friday, July 2, 1920, in Centralia, Illinois, to the late Emil Sr. and Bessie Minor Koenig. He and Katie Dunz were married June 12, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death.
Fritz served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Eagles and VFW in Cape Girardeau. He worked for Midwest Dairy 22 years and worked in accounting at Harris Interests.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Ron J. Koenig (fiancee, Sharon Bell) of Jackson; three daughters, Jean (John) Dudley of Burfordville, Debbie Brown of Oak Ridge and Cathy (Cliff) Thompson of Jackson; brother, Adolf (Lois) Koenig of Clearwater, Florida; a sister, Martha Trout of Longmont, Colorado; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a daughter-in-law, Mary R. Koenig.
Services will be private.
