MOREHOUSE -- Funeral service for Eric Dean Knoeppel of Morehouse will be held at 10 a.m. today at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sikeston. Bishop Matthew Raymond will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel at Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.

Knoeppel, 44, died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 4, 1953, in Sedgwick, Kan., son of Paul Edward and Beverle Mary Jordan Knoeppel. He and Laura Kim Chaney were married Aug. 15, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Knoeppel received a master's degree from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. He was a teacher with State of Missouri Rehab Services for the Blind.

He moved to Morehouse 12 years ago from Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, National Federation of the Blind, and was active in Boy Scouts of America and Order of the Arrow.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Adam Knoeppel of the home; a daughter, Stephanie Knoeppel of the home; his mother of Wellington, Kan.; two brothers, Jordan Knoeppel of Wichita, Kan., David Knoeppel of Everett, Wash.; two sisters, Johanna Anderson of Hazelton, Idaho, and Lucinda Wald of Salt Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his father.
