COBDEN, Ill. -- Ernest Leroy Fisher, 69, of Cobden, died Wednesday, July 14, 1993, at Veterans Medical Center in Marion.

He was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Dongola, Ill., son of Harvey and Jesse Williams Fisher. He and Amy Coplin were married Dec. 19, 1990.

Fisher was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike Fisher of Crab Orchard, Steve Fisher of Cobden; three stepsons, Donald Vanover of Rochester, James Vanover of Jackson, Mo., Robert McCain of McClure; two stepdaughters, Joella Marsh of Vienna, Mary Grimes of Austin, Texas; a sister, Colleen Collins of Olive Branch; 20 stepgrandchildren, and numerous great-stepgrandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Chapel in Dongola. Burial will be in Meisenheimer/Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
