Erwin E. Dost, 83, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Oak Ridge, son of Otto E. and Clara Rudert Dost. He and Laurine A. Best were married Sept. 2, 1944, in Cape Girardeau.
Erwin worked 44 years at Brase Distributing, retiring in the early 1990s. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was formerly active on various committees, served as an elder, and was active in the Lutheran Men's Club.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Loving survivors include his wife, Laurine Dost of Cape Girardeau, and a sister, Helen Morrison of Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dost, who passed away in 1967; two brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
