SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Evelyn Virginia Sargent of Sikeston will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Bishop John C. Sargent will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Rehoboth Cemetery at Roellen, Tenn.

Sargent, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born March 18, 1911, in Newbern, Tenn., daughter of Daniel T. and Armenta Wilcox Smith. She and Dr. Alden P. Sargent were married June 19, 1942, in Evanston, Wyo.

Sargent taught school in Qulin, Poplar Bluff and Sikeston.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Dr. Richard Sargent of St. Louis; a daughter, Kay Field of Sikeston, and four grandsons.
